We take great pride in providing many fun opportunities right here at Grapevine RV Resort — but we also encourage you to explore our neighbors, who offer plenty of their own appealing and entertaining options.
Most guests pull in off I-5 expecting a place to sleep and end up surprised by how much is within a few miles. You’re also parked in the heart of one of the most productive agricultural regions in the country — Kern County ranks as the second largest ag-producing county in the nation, responsible for 80% of the country’s carrots, 44% of its table grapes, and 20% of its citrus. The land around here feeds a lot of people.
Here’s a few things we recomend!

History & Outdoors
Fort Tejon State Historic Park — 5 minutes
One of the most undervisited state parks in California, and it’s practically in our backyard. Fort Tejon was a U.S. Army post established in 1854, and the restored adobe buildings and grounds give you a genuinely good sense of what frontier California looked like. Self-guided and guided tours available. Living history reenactments on select weekends.
"Open daily from sunrise to sunset; visitor center open Tuesday–Saturday 9am–4pm."
Museums & Culture
Kern County Museum — 33.5 miles
One of the finest regional museums in California, the Kern County Museum in Bakersfield covers the full sweep of local history — from the Yokuts people who first inhabited the valley to the oil boom that shaped the modern city. An outdoor pioneer village with 56 historic structures on 16 acres makes it a genuinely immersive half-day visit.
"Monday & Tuesday: Closed, Wednesday – Sunday: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, (no admission after 3:30 pm)"
Entertainment & Recreation
